Scientific Installation (Interactive multimedia installation with Real-Time simulation software) about the behaviour of the Dark Matter within a galaxy mass, permanently installed inside the exhibition “Extreme- Alla Ricerca delle particelle” of the Science Museum.
The installation suggests that the existence and behaviour of what we “see” in the Universe is actually determined by something which we do not see (dark matter).
Visitors are faced with the image of a Galaxy. On a horizontal plane they can virtually design a shapeless mass of dark colour, which represents the dark matter. As visitors act on the shapeless mass, moulding it, the image of the galaxy changes in real time following a projection of how dark matter would actually react.
The exhibition has been developed in partnership with Cern, the European Organization for Nuclear Research and the INFN, National Institute of Nuclear Physics.
